If you’re looking for delicious ways to add more iron to your diet, this smoothie is for you. It packs a whopping 17.85mg of iron which is almost the entire required daily intake for an adult woman (18mg) and it tastes yum.
Each ingredient is carefully chosen through trial and error, to ensure both iron content, increased nutrient absorption and a beautiful balance of flavours. If you want or need to replace any ingredients, please know that it will change the iron content and/or the flavour.

- 30g oats
- 15g chia seeds
- 30g cashews
- 65g blueberries
- 1 tsp spirulina
- 1 TBSP dry turmeric
- 165g mango flesh
- 3 dried apricots, chopped
- 1 TBSP pumpkin seeds
- water to cover
- Add all the ingredients to a blender with enough water to cover them.
- Blend and adjust the consistency if you want. Leave it as is if you prefer it thicker or add a little more water if you prefer it thinner.
This smoothie is best enjoyed right away with a thick smoothie straw.
