- 1/2 cup fresh chopped turmeric root
- 1/2 cup fresh chopped ginger root
- 2 cups of water
- 1/2 cup of lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons maple syrup
- 1 pinch cayenne pepper*
- Add the turmeric, ginger and water to a blender and blitz until smooth.
- Add the turmeric mix to a small saucepan or pot on medium heat and simmer for 8 to 10 minutes.
- Allow the turmeric mix to cool.
- Add the lemon juice, maple syrup and cayenne pepper and stir to combine.
- Refrigerate this mix in one or two airtight jars. It will keep for up to 2 weeks in the fridge.
* The cayenne pepper is optional however it does improve the bioavailability of the turmeric!
